History

Although relatively new to the Los Angeles Metro Area, the Spokeeasy has quickly become one of the premier locations for strange and unusual bike activity. Desperately in need of a build shop, the Los Angelopes nonviolently commandeered Brassknuckle's backyard garage space and quickly modified it into the hub of their freak bike dreams. The idea for the Spokeeasy is to make a completely free bike build / repair space for the community. Everything that is available at the Spokeeasy is free for the taking unless it has already been claimed by someone else. If it has been claimed it will have a tag on it.

Features

  • Covered build space
  • Continuously growing supply of bikes
  • MIG Welder (currently on loan from Alec)
  • Sawzall (currently on loan from Alec)
  • Angle Grinder (currently on loan from Alec)
  • Storage space for multiple projects
  • Beer

Safety

Building bikes at the Spokeeasy is an amazingly fun and enlighting experience, however there are some Safety Procedures that the Los Angelopes encourage everyone to be aware of.

Build Days

Open bike build days will be posted on the Los Angelopes Website. If you would like to come at any other time, please email us to make an appointment and we would be happy to accomodate you and help you to build the freak bike of your dreams. To make an appointment contact us at freak_bike_build@losangelopes.com

Donations

The Spokeeasy is always on the lookout for more bikes to use as well as any tools to work on bikes. If you have any spare items you are willing to donate, please contact us at donate_to@losangelopes.com

Although it is a free workspace, The Spokeeasy is in the very beginning stages. Because of this we are lacking quite a few essential tools that are needed. Tools are expensive so we also welcome any monetary donations so that we can use it to buy tools.

Remember, you are welcome to come and work even if you have nothing to donate.

Beer is always welcome too. In fact it is usually required that you bring us beer. We like beer. Mmmmm beer.
