A tall bike is a bike with a normal wheel base which has a standover height so large that the rider's head is usually 7 or more feet above ground while riding. It takes skill to ride, mount and dismount a tall bike. Tall bikes are typically constructed by welding two frames of similar dimension and geometry on top of one another.

Variations

Kabuki Sky, built by Los Angeles rider Richie Thomassen, is an example of a triple tall bike in which three frames have been stacked. Because of the backward leaning slope of the seat tubes the bike would instantly wheelie with two equal sized wheels, so it utilizes a 16" Kiddie Bike wheel in the front, and a 27" wheel in the rear.
