Westside should mention LA

Good call! I was actually wondering how to change that, but I now know that "move" does that. God, I love this syntax so much better than html

You know that some people have modded out wiki software and used it to maintain regular websites? It's soooooo much better.

It's just different. All this stuff is still built on HTML/DHTML/CSS/PHP. It's definitely easier to use in this context - a dynamic & collaborative website that's constantly changing. But it's not a replacement. I love wikis, i use a local wiki on my computer: http://www.tiddlywiki.com/, to take notes and stuff. It's my start page when I open up firefox. --rev.dak 14:27, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
Well - the original intent of HTML was to provide structure, not to dictate presentation. Then it got used for presentation for a while, and now that territory is being claimed by CSS. Division of labor! PHP is my boi! Alex 14:36, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
BTW, I actually use a wiki to organize my lyfe! It's got more pages than this wiki, but not for long . . . Alex 14:40, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
!!! Oh man. I used to ARGUE with graphic designers all the time, about how HTML is just a markup language, and that they were trying to make it something that it wasn't. This was long before CSS/DHTML. I would tell them, if they wanted to make it look exacty, use FLASH or something. Now they have CSS & PHP. PHP is the shit. --rev.dak 14:52, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
Eat shit graphic designers!! You've been CRANK MobBED by Caskadeng Stile SHIETS. Alex 14:56, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
Dak, can you email me about how you use your local wiki? That shit fascinates me. I love this junkzz.

I would argue that the Westside starts at La Brea. That's where West Hollywood officially starts. --rev.dak 14:27, 17 April 2008 (PDT)

I usually say Fairfax. I say we adopt the conventions laid out in this article by the Militant Angeleno. It establishes La Cienega as the dividing line, which I can live with since it solves the problem of what to call Hollywood, Koreatown et al. Alex 14:36, 17 April 2008 (PDT)
I definitely support Militant Angeleno's definition of La Cienega being the dividing line, due to it's 323/310-dome. If you read in the comments about the strange areas West of the 2 FWY & LA river, but isn't quite the Valley or Center, you'll see some confusing lines drawn there. I happen to live East of the LA river, West of the 2Fwy, but I'm NOT in Glendale, but it's been referred to as Eagle Rock, but technically it's Glassel Park. It's NELA, therefore the Eastside in west-sider's eyes. Oh nevermind.--rev.dak 15:08, 17 April 2008 (PDT)

Midnight Swimazz

Midnight Swimazz is an element of bike culture in West LA though . . . what's a better place? Think Thompson, THINK! Alex 00:57, 29 April 2008 (PDT)

What about a section for non-ride events on the westside?
  • Midnight Swimazz
  • bike polo
  • kickball, etc.
