The Smell Segundo Crew consists of Alec Schwarz, Brian Davidson, and Max Lucas, who all live near each other in the Manhattan Beach/El Segundo area. Smell Segundo founded WestSIDAZZ and for a couple years it seemed you wouldn't see one without the others. The crew was only bestowed with it's moniker in September 2007; for years they were just referred to as "Max, Alec and Brian" until their strong performance in the Bikerowave 1st Annual SoCal Bike Polo Championship as Team Smell Segundo.

Smell Segundo represents the South Bay for Swarm! as well. All three are vegans, and together they attempted to complete the 2007 AIDS/LifeCycle on tall bikes. Alec was forced to dropout due to dehydration, but Max and Brian went on to finish the event.

Influence on West LA Bike Culture

Before Santa Monica Critical Mass became the dominant ride on the Westside in 2005, Smell Segundo organized the only underground social ride on the Westside, the WestSIDAZZ. The Smell Segundo boys could be found leading satellite rides to the 2nd Friday Midnight Ridazz. They were the first people in LA to regularly ride tall bikes. They built the tall bikes in their shop in South Bay by chopping and welding bikes. Smell Segundo also built and brought the 2nd trailer sound system in LA, and regularly brought it to rides from the South Bay, like Santa Monica Critical Mass.
