Many cyclist riding in the same direction at the same time make up a ride. The powerful experience and beauty (fun) of the ride relates to the double loneliness of the cyclist: Lonely among all the cars, and lonely without bicycle company. The group ride transforms single cyclists into a marvelous we and us. It is a social experience.
