Los Angelopes
From ibikeu Wiki
The Los Angelopes are a group of cyclists from the Los Angeles Metro Area who build and ride freak bikes, namely "Angelopes".Contents |
Conception
The Los Angelopes group was started in February of 2008. It began as a Westside ride, organized by many of the die hard participants in Cub Camp. The ride is part of a pattern of animal themed Westside originated rides.
Location and time
The first Los Angelopes rides started at the CRANK MOB 7-11, usually with a gathering time of 8pm and a departure time of 9pm. This hour long staging period followed the lead of rides such as Pier Pressure in expanding the ride gathering time into an event all it's own.
The starting location for the third ride was moved to Trader Joe's at Sepulveda & Palms, still in West LA. However, after that ride, the ride began starting in the early afternoon and at points near to, or within, Downtown LA. This is attributed to the moving of many organizers to East toward Downtown, and the recent usage of Brassknuckle's pad at Grand Ave for freak bike building.
Rides
