Los Angeles Bicycle District

Los Angeles Bicycle District is a neighboorhood located in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles, CA known for being a hub of the L.A. bicycling community. Its epicenter is the corner of Heliotrope Dr. and Melrose Ave. where several bicycle shops and bicycle-friendly businesses are located including Orange 20 Bikes, Bicycle Kitchen, Scoops Ice Cream and Pure Luck Restaurant. The area is also known as Heliotrope Village but was unofficially renamed by Jon Jandoc and Sally Carson (aka Fixpert) after a discussion over a thread on the L.A. Fixed forum in mid 2007. Bicycle District is now a frequent rendezvous location for L.A. cyclists and has played venue for several block parties including 2007's Bicycle Film Festival block party and 2008's Velocity Tour block party.
