Los Angeles is the largest municipality in Southern California. By most measures the Los Angeles Metro Area, which is centered around the City of Los Angeles, is the 2nd largest metropolitan area in North America, behind New York/New Jersey.
Natural Disasters
Los Angeles is prone to a variety of natural disasters such as earthquakes, raging fires, mud slides, and even an occasional tornado or two. Despite the wishes of those living in New York City, L.A. has not yet fallen into the Pacific Ocean.
