Ibikeu Wiki:Editing Guidelines
From ibikeu Wiki
Apart from ibikeu Wiki's policies, ibikeu Wiki has a certain style. These guidelines will help you to mesh fluidly with other editor's efforts. Their intention is to establish and codify conventions which are conducive to broad collaboration.
Sign your comments
When commenting on a talk page, please sign your comments.
Talk pages are where the real work refining of a wiki takes place. In those conversations editors discuss and seek consensus on many issues. Please sign your comments with your name and the time when you leave them. This helps people to sort out the flow of the conversation.
The easy way to sign your comments is by placing four tildas in a row at the end of your comments - like so:
Blah blah blah! ~~~~
This will cause MediaWiki to automatically sign your comment with your name and a timestamp, like so:
Blah blah blah! Alex 20:05, 21 July 2008 (PDT)
Summarize your edits
Please use the "Summary" box beneath the edit box to briefly summarize your edits.
Below the edit box there is a form titled "Summary". When you save an edit, anything placed in this box is added alongside the edit in the editing history and recent changes. Editors roam around ibikeu Wiki (perhaps more than they edit) studying the contributions. When an article changes it is easier for editors to understand how the article has changed it there is a short summary. It focuses their attention so that they know what to look for in the revision. This speeds up collaboration and facilitates communication.
