Art & Design

Gary is one of a number of people who shoot photography of Los Angeles bicycle events such as Midnight Ridazz rides. He has also designed some spoke cards and fliers for events, particularly training rides for the 2007 Team Midnight Ridazz AIDS LifeCycle team.

Accomplishments in Bike Activism

  • Convinced his place of employment, SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) Santa Monica to adopt a parking cash out program as an incentive for bicycle commuters. In addition to this, secured a public air pump and multi-tool for the company with money from the facilities department, and has actively encouraged cycling to work amongst employees. He regularly writes at his blog Gary Rides Bikes on local cycling issues. In October of 2008 he parted with his car and has joined those who willingly choose to live car free in Los Angeles.

Bikes

Gary's C2C road bike
  • 2007 Bianchi Bergamo Commuter Bike.
    • Purchased as primary vehicle for commuting to work after his old Iron Horse mountain bike broke down. Continues to be extensively used for hauling groceries, appearing at casual rides such as C.R.A.N.K. MOB and occasionally on longer rides. On a Los Angelopes ride it was used to carry Maulie as an extra passenger.
  • 2007 Bianchi 929 Coast to Coast w/105
    • As his passion for cycling grew, and becoming associated with CubCamp it became clear a road bike would be more ideally suited. Rather then starting with something more entry level, he saved up for this full carbon road machine. This bike is now Gary's primary bike and is used extensively for cross town commuting, CubCamp, Wolfpack and training with Team Midnight Ridazz.
  • White Peugeot Road Bike
    • This bike was purchased to ride around with a quicker pace then the commuter bike, still used for large shopping trips, and without the liability of locking up a carbon racing machine. And it looks classy.
