Dan Berlant (known in the bike scene as "Brassknuckle") has been an active member of the Los Angeles Metro Area bike scene since his first Midnight Ridazz Ride (#30 Ridazz Sell Out) on June 9, 2006. He currently lives at Grand in the Downtown/Chinatown area of Los Angeles which also doubles as the Los Angelopes build center aka the Spokeeasy. He is a proud member of Tren Way Bicycle Gang, and is a founding member of the Los Angeles freak bike group known as Los Angelopes. Brassknuckle is also a member of the Los Angeles Cacophony Society.

Biography
Brassknuckle was born on the Westside of Los Angeles on January 14, 1975. He attended college at University of Oregon with a major in Environmental Studies. After moving back to Los Angeles in 1998, he started working for an environmental company in Venice, CA. After leaving that job, he ended up in the music business doing music licensing. In 2007 he started his own Music Licensing company. On October 25, 2005 he sold his car and decided that riding his bike was a better way to get around Los Angeles. He isn't against cars completely, but thinks too many people rely on their cars far too much. You will occasionally see him driving when he borrows a car from someone, but his favorite mode of transportation is still his bike.
Brassknuckle has also started to build freak bikes in his back yard as part of the Los Angelopes. He is the keeper of the Spokeeasy which is a collection of scrap bikes and bike parts to be turned into new and fun freak bikes. Brassknuckle is also a co-founder and organizer for Freak Fest 2008.
