Bike Path
From ibikeu Wiki
A bike path may also be referred to as a shared-use path, or trail. A Bike path is completely separated from roads, except where they may intersect, and is designated for the exclusive use of bicycles and pedestrians and the occasional horse. They can be paved, unpaved, or somewhere in between, depending upon maintenance.
When dealing with government, you may hear them referred to as "Class I Bicycle Facility" or "Class I bike path"
Some critics of bike paths and other dedicated bike "facilities" argue that bike paths are unsafe, particularly where bike paths intersect roads, or where people and bikes mix. Some supporters of bike paths argue that bike paths create an area for inexperienced bicyclists to start riding, who might otherwise not ride.
