Bicycle Kitchen

The Bicycle Kitchen is a cooperative bike shop on Helitrope near Melrose, an area known by many cyclists as the Bicycle District. The Kitchen has been an integral force in getting people on bikes through low cost maintence instruction and provided tools. The Kitchen was the first of currently three bicycle co-ops to establish in L.A., and given credit for inspiring the Bikerowave and Bike Oven which set up shops on opposite ends of town. Due to the Kitchen's central location within the Los Angeles area and it's significance to bicycle culture, it also plays host to being the start location of numerous rides.
