Biography

Background information

Originally born in Danville, IL, Bentstrider lived in the California desert since 1987. The rest of the time here generally, a normalized blur of school and the usual affairs of growing up, he first learned to ride a bike at seven years of age.

Fast-forward to 1999, 11th grade year, he began to undertake cycling to school as a full-time thing for the next, two years. Unfortunately, this happened to become a phase which gradually wore out by 2002, and was followed by inevitable weight gain and submission to motor-vehicles for everything until March 2005.

As many probably already know, Bentstrider holds a Class-A, Commercial Drivers License. He earned this from CRST trucking in 2004 when he turned 21. Unfortunately, the aforementioned company employed team-drivers as opposed to letting a lone-driver solo. This did not sit well with Bentstrider due to the fact that he viewed this a control-liability. He left that company after 1 month of driving with them and did not venture back into driving a semi-truck until September of 2006.

In March of 2005, a switch of companys led to a change in lifestyle and transportation choice. Being that his new, place of work was just a, few blocks down the street from where he lived, Bentstrider began walking to work, then cycling to work just to see how fast he could do it. This in turn led to him working out at the gym for extra body-building, and eventually, his bicycle as the primary form of in-town, transportation. Since that year, Bentstrider hardly goes anywhere without a bicycle.

In September of 2006, after two, full years of not driving a semi-truck, Bentstrider joined Swift Transportation and remained there driving until an unfortunate accident in October of 2007 led to his dismissal from the company. As of this date though, Bentstrider is now fully-employed as a gatekeeper, and intends to make a full comeback to the world of semi-truck driving.

Discovery of Ridazz

On July 13th, 2007, Bentstrider had just picked up a load of paper products in Las Vegas, NV, that was heading down to Fort Worth, TX. Since it had a three-day, timetable on delivery, Bentstrider decided to head downtown to get some gym-time in, and check out a well-known, pirate-show that performed nightly on Vegas Blvd. After engaging in the above activities, Bentstrider was heading south down Vegas Blvd, back towards the truckstop where his semi-truck/trailer was parked. As he was riding along, he noticed a large, number of taillights in front of him. Thinking these were those pamphlet-distributors, he thought nothing of it, until he got closer.

Upon his discovery of this massive group, he was overcome by shock at seeing so, many people on bicycles at one time. Nonetheless, he joined up with them and the rest is history.

Activities & Other things

Due to his 100mile+ range from many of the ride-start locations, Bentstrider tries to make it down to as many of them as possible. These have included C.R.A.N.K. MOB, Cruz With Us, IE Ridazz, and a plethora of others that have occurred within the LA Basin area. In the past year, he has tried unsuccessfully to get a Midnight Ridazz movement started up in the desert area. This has only inspired him to continually funnel resources into coming down to the basin. Bentstrider personally feels that those who live in the desert are romanticized by their four-wheelers.

As far as other activities go, he also likes to explore abandoned structures whenever the chance arises.

Notable MR Exploits

It should also be noted that when he can't make a ride, he'll continue adding information of varying degrees to the given thread. This is most likely out of feeling helpless for not making it, but still wanting to be part of the experience to some degree.
