An Angelope is a freak bike made by members of the Los Angelopes bike group. The name is derived from a combination of "Los Angeles" and "antelope" (after a similar, upright appearance). An Angelope can vary in construction greatly, but one usually has a small front wheel (typically 16"), a full sized rear wheel (26", 27" or 700c) and ape hanger handlebars.

Construction

Conception

Los Angelopes like to experiment with bike designs of all types leading to other strange creations, including tallbikes, minibikes, choppers, barbebikes and etc.

Fabrication

The general 'Angelope' is made from two minibike frames and one regular-sized road or MTB frame. The two minis are cut in half at the seat tubes, and the front ends are welding on top of each other. The rear triangle is cut from a regular bike and welded to the two minis.
